Savilahti has a wide range of leisure time activities to offer. Savisaari, Lake Kallavesi and the old-growth forests of Puijo offer visitors unforgettable experiences in e.g. berry-picking, mushroom-gathering, jogging, horse riding, kayaking and fishing. And in winter, Puijo is a popular skiing destination.
Well-being services provided by Fressi gym and the sports and martial arts centre Liike are complemented by the gyms of educational institutions as well as the sports and event centre Luola. Further opportunities for physical activity are provided by the lit forest tracks, ski tracks and disc golf courses of the Huuha outdoor recreation area as well as the Kotkankallio civil defence shelter, which is used by several sports clubs.
Thanks to the proximity of the Kuopio University Hospital, health services in the Savilahti area are second to none. Once the apartments currently under construction are completed, new businesses in the restaurant and retail industries will be opened to complement the service offering of the shopping hub around Prisma.
