Light art at the Iloharju heat plant

The special lighting element of the Kuopio Energia heat plant in Iloharju includes the plant’s facade, smokestack and oil storage tank. Different patterns are projected on the motorway-facing wall of the heat plant on holidays and special occasions. For example, on Finnish Independence Day, a blue-and-white pattern is projected, and on Christmas, a reindeer, and for new year’s, a multicoloured pattern. The lighting has been designed by lighting designer Ari Tiilikainen.
